A ritual of inspiration, Morning Altars

“Remembrance is a powerful way to honor the lives of those who have passed. This art of remembering takes different forms and is practiced by people of diverse cultures and religions around the world.” Like the letsreimagine festival, we have been touched by the inclusive and universal work of Day Schildkret and his project Morning Altars.

Morning Altars has sprouted from a daily ritual of foraging local objects that the wild world has discarded to the earth—feathers, leaves, flowers, bones and how the resurgence of these objects, colors, textures, shapes into a collaboration of proximity can bring forth new forms of beauty and memory.
